Middle Street Meadow

Middle Street Meadow is an area of old water meadow, with public access. The meadow is situated in West Harnham in the City of Salisbury. GR. 132294. It is part of a green corridor along the river Nadder which extends into the heart of the city and includes the adjacent Harnham Water Meadows Reserve and Nadder Island, a Wiltshire Wildlife Trust Reserve.

Middle Street Meadow has a central playing field area of level ground which is regularly mown and is used for football through the winter months. Around this field area there are well maintained grass pathways popular with local residents and dog walkers. There are other areas which are managed to encourage wildlife. In 2008 the Environment Agency created a pond to filter the rain water run-off from Churchfields industrial estate. The meadow is bordered on its northern side by the river Nadder.
